On July 16, 2024, a delegation from the Guangzhou Aquatic Products Chamber of Commerce visited the Consulate General of the Republic of Vanuatu in Guangzhou and was warmly received by Consul General Jacques Himford. The two sides had friendly exchanges and in-depth discussions during the meeting.

The meeting mainly focused on the Guangzhou Aquatic Products Chamber of Commerce's trip to Vanuatu for deep-sea fishing and the development of aquaculture in Vanuatu, mainly shrimp and crab.

Consul General Jacques Himford said that Vanuatu has rich marine resources, but the local fishing and breeding are lacking. He hopes that the Chamber of Commerce can bring us advanced technology, solve the current technical problems, and lay the foundation for further fishery cooperation between the two sides.

 In this meeting, the two sides are expected to further deepen substantive cooperation in the fields of fisheries and aquaculture to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results.
