On April 19, 2024, Consul General Jacques Himford and his delegation visited the Guangdong Provincial Foreign Institutions Service Office, visited the office's workplace, and had friendly exchanges with the Director of the Service Office, Chen Guangyu. During the visit, they also visited the Duty Free Shop for Diplomatic Personnel.

During the visit, Consul General Jacques Himford learned that the Guangdong Provincial Foreign Institutions Service Office provides various services to 69 consulates and staff in Guangzhou with the mission of "cooperating with diplomacy and serving the mission". The main functions of the service office include undertaking the development, construction and management of the consular district and the consular buildings in Guangzhou, assisting in the management of registered consular vehicles, and the selection and management of Chinese employees.

Consul General Jacques Himford said that this meeting has laid a solid foundation for further friendly exchanges between the two sides, and will continue to promote communication and cooperation between Vanuatu and Guangzhou in the future.
