On April 15, 2024, Jacques Himford, Consul General of Vanuatu in Guangzhou, and his delegation visited Yangjiang High-tech Industrial Development Zone to inspect the development of offshore wind power and experience the development achievements of the green energy industry in the High-tech Industrial Development Zone. Wang Bing, member of the Standing Committee of Yangjiang Municipal Party Committee, Secretary-General, Director of the Office, and Minister of the United Front Work Department, and Xie Yanju, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the High-tech Industrial Development Zone, accompanied the investigation.

Consul General Jacques Himford and his delegation visited the National Offshore Wind Power Equipment Quality Supervision and Inspection Center and Guangdong Mingyang New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and learned in detail about the offshore wind power industry layout, industrial development advantages, Guangdong (Yangjiang) International Wind Power City core area planning and construction, as well as the production and operation, product technology, technological advantages and scientific and technological innovation of wind power companies in the High-tech Industrial Development Zone. They spoke highly of the development of the green energy industry in the High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

Consul General Jacques Himford said that he is very optimistic about the future development of Guangdong (Yangjiang) International Wind Power City and hopes to further promote close exchanges between Vanuatu and Yangjiang, deepen cooperation in multiple fields between the two places under the framework of the "Belt and Road" initiative, give full play to resource advantages and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
