On March 22, 2024, the president of Malapo College and representatives of international students in China attended the "α Generation and China-Vanuatu Friendship" open day event. The Chinese Ambassador's wife, Ms. Lin Ying, hosted them. The event was held to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vanuatu and China. More than 50 α Generation students from Malapo College and Vila Central School participated.

The president of Malapo College said in his speech that Vanuatu and China have always respected, trusted and supported each other, making the Vanuatu-China relationship better and better after 42 years. All students are like the sun at eight or nine o'clock in the morning, full of vigor and vitality. The inheritance of Vanuatu-China friendship lies in you. I sincerely hope that you will have a deeper understanding of the origin of Vanuatu-China friendship and grow into a bridge to convey Vanuatu-China friendship.

Representatives of the α generation students shared their wonderful feelings about the local customs and culture of Vanuatu based on their study experiences in Vanuatu.

The students also listened to guqin performances and experienced traditional Chinese arts such as calligraphy and paper cutting.

The principal of Malapoa College said that this event has deepened her understanding of the friendship between Vanuatu and China, and she is willing to contribute to deepening the friendship between Vanuatu and China.
